As Vice Chair of Colorado Consumer Health Initiative’s (CCHI)  Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the hiring and imminent start of CCHI’s new Executive Director, Mannat Singh!

Mannat Singh headshotMannat Singh brings over twelve years of experience working in health policy and advocacy on local, regional, and national levels. Mannat has worked within and across all sectors of health policy in various leadership roles as a committed and fierce advocate for equitable health care for all, and will bring her experience and passion to her new role at CCHI.

As the new Executive Director, Mannat and the CCHI team have many great opportunities to build off major successes of recent years; a few of which include robust surprise billing protections, creating the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise to improve affordability and access particularly for Coloradans regardless of documentation, creating more affordable standardized Colorado Option (public option) insurance plans, creating Colorado’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board, and other recent wins, which you can come learn more about at our legislative wrap up on May 24th. CCHI has been evolving our work to incorporate community organizing and community-driven, equity-focused approaches. Our Consumer Assistance Program has now saved Coloradans over $4.8 million since we started the program in mid-2018, and provides CCHI in-depth insight into the health care barriers Coloradans face that we then work to eliminate through our policy and advocacy work.

As board, staff, and our joint search committee came together to search for the next executive director, we knew we were looking for a unique leader that can carry CCHI forward, build on these achievements, and continue our evolution as an organization. We are confident we have found that leader in Mannat, who you can read more about in her bio.

Working with a search firm that was able to bring strong and diverse candidates, CCHI’s board and staff went through an extensive process of interviews and reviewing candidate materials. We engaged many talented candidates, with interest and skills to leverage the strong foundations that have been established at CCHI for our work. The board, search committee, and staff were looking for a candidate that can build off CCHI’s work and recent major successes while continuing (and growing) our financial stability, as well as guiding our evolution as an organization to ensure CCHI is structured internally and externally to achieve our goals of health equity, community-driven policy change, and being an anti-racist organization.

We are thrilled to have selected Mannat as the new leader of the organization, and are excited for her leadership and vision as she takes the helm starting May 16th.

“I have been inspired by the mission and work of CCHI over the course of my career, which align deeply with my personal and professional values and goals. I am excited and honored to take on this leadership role to continue the work of this great organization and to serve our constituents and communities to advocate for, transform, and protect health care equity, affordability, and quality for all Coloradans.” – Mannat Singh

We will be working to ensure all our funders, partners, members, and community have the chance to get to know Mannat more as she transitions into CCHI. We look forward to the work ahead as Mannat and CCHI’s talented staff continue to advance CCHI’s mission so that all Coloradans have equitable, affordable, and quality health care.
