Yesterday, the U.S. House Republicans released a policy brief outlining priorities for repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.

“The proposed GOP health care plan is merely a repackaging of failed policies and those already in place.

“It would create inequities in the health care system and dismantle our health care safety net, benefitting higher income individuals to the detriment of those struggling to make ends meet. It would cover fewer people and do little to make coverage more affordable.

“The proposal may be plenty of things — a boon for the wealthy, a disaster for those with pre-existing conditions, and a mess for policy-makers and elected officials —  but it isn’t an adequate substitute for the Affordable Care Act and isn’t a real solution for the American people.”
