Adela Flores-Brennan Appointed to Connect for Health Colorado Board of Directors
Colorado Consumer Health Initiative leader to represent Colorado consumer voice

DENVER – Colorado Consumer Health Initiative Executive Director Adela Flores-Brennan has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Connect for Health Colorado board of directors.

“I am honored to have been appointed to the Connect for Health Colorado board of directors, and I look forward to serving as a strong advocate for Colorado consumers,” said Adela Flores-Brennan. “My goal will be to ensure the success and sustainability of Colorado’s health insurance marketplace for consumers.”

Flores-Brennan has worked in law and public policy in Colorado for 15 years, and has been Colorado Consumer Health Initiative’s executive director for almost a year. Prior to filling that health policy leadership role, she was the Connect for Health Colorado director of community-based assistance programs, where she managed two statewide networks of organizations to provide outreach, education and assistance with application and enrollment. Flores-Brennan also spent five and a half years at the Colorado Center on Law and Policy where she worked on a range of health policy, federal policy, and legal issues including health reform implementation, Medicaid and CHP+ eligibility and enrollment issues.

“All of us at Colorado Consumer Health Initiative are delighted that Adela will bring robust consumer representation on the Connect for Health Colorado board,” said Lorez Meinhold, board chair of Colorado Consumer Health Initiative. “It is critical that the Connect for Health Colorado board continue to engage with consumers and stakeholders, which is exactly what Adela will do.”

Flores-Brennan is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in International Studies from the University of Denver.
