The Colorado Consumer Health Initiative values transparency and privacy. We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and disclose the information gathering and dissemination practices.

General Information Collection and Use?
The Colorado Consumer Health Initiative is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. We collect information from our users for different reasons, including but not limited to, story collection, volunteering, donations, email listservs, and event registrations. Information submitted to us may be used to contact you with or for additional information, or to provide opportunities to you to be involved in our advocacy for better health care.

Sharing
We understand health and health care is a personal and sensitive topic. We always endeavor to use the information submitted to us in accordance with your wishes. We share anecdotes we hear from individuals about how the health care system is/isn’t working with policy makers. However, we will never include your name or other identifiable information without your prior approval. We also will not share your information with any other organization without your prior approval. If you do provide us with consent to share any identifiable information, we will share it only in the form/s you allow and that consent can be withdrawn at any time by calling 303-839-1261 or emailing afox@cohealthinitiative.org.

Security
Multiple employees of the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative may be granted access to personally identifiable information submitted through our website and other online tools. Whenever possible, this information is kept in password protected locations. There may be times when some personal information is shared verbally or through internal messaging tools between Colorado Consumer Health Initiative employees to ensure we are assisting consumers in the best way possible. Any time new privacy/security policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure information is protected.

Notification of Changes?
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes here so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
