The days are short and the sweet treats in our office are plenty! That must mean that 2012 is coming to a close. Here at CCHI we are reminiscing about our favorite moments of the year. In fact, each month is worth remembering. We hope you consider helping make 2013 as unforgettable through an online, tax-deductible donation.

And now (drum roll please) our most memorable moments of 2012!

January:  On January 4, we launched our new website. The award-winning site features a searchable provider map of CO that helps uninsured Coloradans find health care providers and this blog, Full Coverage (health coverage + news coverage).

February: We hosted over 100 activists at the state capitol for our annual Health Care Day of Action (speaking of, save the date for this year’s on 3/7/12!).

March: Happy Birthday Obamacare! We celebrated the two-year anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act with stories, events and photos.

April: Our website won a Pollie Award for Best Membership Organization Website (Actually, we won the award in March, but we were so busy we couldn’t celebrate until April).

May: On May 7, the Hospital Payment Assistance Program was signed into law.  We helped pass this law to increase transparency standards in hospital billing, establish a discount program for uninsured patients under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level and improve payment and billing practices in hospitals.

June: We celebrated as #SCOTUS (the Supreme Court of the United States) upheld Obamacare! Watch our day-of analysis here.

July: We worked with our 50 member organizations and reached a consensus (no joke!) on which Essential Health Benefits benchmark plan would be best for Colorado consumers.

August: Being a woman got easier! On August 1st a provision of Obamacare requiring insurers to provide women’s preventive services without a copay took affect. We celebrated by running this ad on Hulu.

September: Another month, another party. In September we celebrated with all of you at our annual event. And we honored Firefighter John Lauer for his fight to increase health insurance coverage for wildland fire fighters.

October: We won an award! In October, CCHI and ProgressNow Education Colorado were honored with a silver leaf award for a social media integrated campaign for Thanks Obamacare. What an honor!

November: We hosted activists, policy-makers and colleagues at our annual Colorado Voices for Coverage conference, focused on Colorado going “Full Steam Ahead” on health reform.

December: We made the front page! On December 3, CCHI’s own Dede De Percin was featured in a front page story about our work with insurance rate review.

What an amazing year! I can’t wait to see what we accomplish in 2013. Want to help? Please consider an online, tax-deductible donation to CCHI now.
