Five years ago, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as the ACA and Obamacare, into law. The ACA is working in many ways to make health care more affordable, accessible, and high quality for Coloradans. More than 2.2 million Coloradans can no longer be denied for a pre-existing health condition. Mental health and substance abuse benefits have been expanded to more than 1 million Colorado residents. And overall, the uninsured rate in Colorado for 2014 was 11.2%, down from 17.0% in 2013 – the lowest in over 20 years!

However, this summer, the U.S. Supreme Court could undo all of these great steps in the King v. Burwell case. While Colorado consumers are insulated from the direct impacts of an adverse ruling in King v. Burwell, which would take financial assistance away from millions of Americans, we could expect some indirect effects. This could drive up the health care costs for everyone and could throw the entire health care system into chaos. At CCHI, we realize that listening to some of these arguments can be confusing and boring. We’ve done the RUFF part for you – WITH DOGS. What could be better than #RealAnimalsFakePaws?
