We invite you to support us in advancing consumer’s voices to improve access to health care for all Coloradans by donating on Colorado Gives Day, December 8, 2020. Your gift on Colorado Gives Day can make an important difference in our statewide effort to ensure equity, affordability and quality in our health care system and insurance regulations.
Community First Foundation and FirstBank present Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving platform. Donors can easily search for our profile on the site and make safe and secure donations.
“Colorado Gives Day is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. Donations help us do more to support the community and ensure that all Coloradans have equitable access to affordable, high-quality health care,” says Adela Flores-Brennan, CCHI Executive Director. “Our goal is to raise $25,000 this year, which is a big part of our annual operating budget. We hope to see as many as 125 donors giving this year and we want to get a share of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.”
$1 Million Incentive Fund
Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund, one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the country. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated.
Community First Foundation, a leading foundation dedicated to fueling the power of community to drive positive change, and FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally owned bank, have partnered to present Colorado Gives Day for the past eight years. By making fundraising simple for nonprofits and giving easy for donors, it is one the most successful events of its kind in the nation. Last year, $39.6 million was raised for Colorado nonprofits in just 24 hours.

Colorado Consumer Health Initiative Invites you to Invest in our Work this December
Celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2020, CCHI is a statewide, non-partisan, non-profit membership organization working so all Coloradans can get affordable, high-quality, and equitable health care. Since 2000, CCHI has been a formidable change maker that serves as a counterweight to powerful health care interests. Today we empower Colorado adults and families all across the state to advocate for changes that improve the health care system.
Help Us Increase Access to High Quality, Affordable Health Care for All Coloradans
CCHI works across systems and with community members to remove barriers by:
- Connecting people to health care programs and helping them appeal insurance claims denials, and negotiate medical bills. Since 2018, this CCHI program has helped nearly 1000 individuals save over $2 million by negotiating bills, appealing claims, applying for financial assistance or identifying patient assistance programs. Clients come from over 41 Colorado counties in Colorado.
- Passing legislation to reduce the cost of health care, improve transparency in the health care system, and protect consumers from unfair practices.
- Protecting the important, sometimes complex programs that help people in Colorado get access to and afford health care.
- Empowering individuals to share their stories and advocate for change.
