Take Action for prescription drug affordability in colorado
Drug prices affect all consumers and taxpayers whether they take medications or not, and no matter what type of coverage they have. As a result of skyrocketing drug prices, people we know are making difficult choices, such as not filling a prescription, splitting doses in half or relying on expired medications to treat their conditions. Others may be cutting back on expenses, including groceries, borrowing money from friends or family, or forgoing other bills to pay for their prescriptions.
Drugs don’t work if people can’t afford them, and no Coloradan should have to choose between paying for basic necessities and taking the medications that will improve their health.
Join us in the fight against skyrocketing prescription drug prices!
It’s time for us to create the Colorado Health Insurance Option (a.k.a. the Colorado or public option) and leverage the state infrastructure to bring more affordable coverage to consumers and hold hospitals and insurers more accountable to Coloradans. Contact your legislators, volunteer, share your story,…
Volunteer to phone bank with CCHI to pass the Colorado Health Insurance Option (aka public/state option)! No experience is necessary—we will train you and provide you with all the information needed.
This spring, Colorado legislators created new and robust protections to stop surprise out-of-network medical bills and their egregious charges. Unfortunately, the new protections, which go into effect January 1, 2020, cannot protect ALL Coloradans. The new protections cannot apply to Coloradans who are insured through federally regulated health insurance plans. Only Congressional action can ensure all Coloradans share the same protections from surprise medical bills and their disastrous consequences.
