Check out CCHI’s 2020 Ballot Guide
It’s an exciting day–ballots will be mailed out to registered voters on October 9th!
With 11 measures on the statewide ballot this year (and a number of local ballot measures as well), Colorado voters have a lot to consider when casting their votes. As a nonpartisan nonprofit, CCHI is able to take positions on ballot measures to support our members and community in making decisions that align with advancing health equity for all Coloradans.
We have identified six measures that most directly relate to our mission and vision for health care consumers in Colorado. We hope our ballot guide helps you and engaged community members in your life make informed decisions when voting down ballot this year.
Spread the word, share our ballot guide, get involved, and vote if you are eligible!
Too many Coloradans struggle to afford the prescription drugs they need for their health. Nearly 1 in 3 Coloradans have skipped filling a prescription, skipped doses, or cut pills because of costs.
Colorado needs additional funding for Medicaid to respond to the COVID-19 public health crisis and meet the health needs of families and children as our economy suffers.
Take action and tell your state legislators to pass the Fair Tax Act to close tax loopholes for the wealthiest and avoid crippling cuts to basic services like education and health care.
Tell your legislators to create the Health Insurance Affordability Act! Help the 250,000 Coloradans buying insurance for themselves/their families or the thousands who have attempted to buy but found themselves priced out and locked out.
It’s time for us to create the Colorado Affordable Health Care Option (a.k.a. the Colorado Option) and leverage the state infrastructure to bring more affordable coverage to consumers and hold hospitals and insurers more accountable to Coloradans. Contact your legislators, volunteer, share your story,…
Volunteer to phone bank with CCHI to pass the Colorado Affordable Health Care Option (aka public/state option)! No experience is necessary—we will train you and provide you with all the information needed.
Join us in the fight against skyrocketing prescription drug prices in Colorado! Drugs don’t work if people can’t afford them, and no Coloradan should have to choose between paying for basic necessities and taking the medications that will improve their health.
This spring, Colorado legislators created new and robust protections to stop surprise out-of-network medical bills and their egregious charges. Unfortunately, the new protections, which go into effect January 1, 2020, cannot protect ALL Coloradans. The new protections cannot apply to Coloradans who are insured through federally regulated health insurance plans. Only Congressional action can ensure all Coloradans share the same protections from surprise medical bills and their disastrous consequences.
