Health Policy Intern
Lisa is a Colorado native who is passionate about fighting for health equity both locally and internationally. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science, Lisa spent many years working in post-disaster zones in developing countries such as Haiti, the Philippines, and Nepal. Being in these countries provided Lisa with a new understanding of healthcare inequities and the barriers that are created for vulnerable populations without access to basic needs. These experiences influenced her desire to return to Colorado and pursue her Master’s in Social Work degree at MSU Denver while working locally in multiple agencies that serve the homeless, abused and neglected children, and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. When Lisa is not gaining new skills as a policy intern at CCHI, you can find her mountain biking, river rafting, snowboarding, and learning valuable life lessons from her three young children.
