“Colorado Consumer Health Initiative said it had no better friend in the legislature this past session than Sen. John Kefalas. a Democrat from Fort Collins.
The nonpartisan organization that advocates for health-care consumers named him its legislative advocate of the year, the Senate Democrats announced Tuesday.
“Colorado health care consumers have an amazing champion in Sen. Kefalas,” Adela Flores-Brennan, Colorado Consumer Health Initiative’s executive director, said in a statement. “Whether it’s access to care in rural Colorado or keeping health insurance affordable, he always asks ‘how can we make this work better for real people?’”
“My goal is to make sure the system is working for Colorado families who need access to health care services,” Kefalas stated. “While I am grateful for this honor, in the end, it’s all about keeping Coloradans healthy, so they can live the lives they so choose.””
