The Colorado Consumer Health Initiative would like to invite you to participate in our Power of One story bank.  Your help will further our work to increase access to health care services in Colorado.  By sharing your story, we are able to persuade decision makers and educate members of the public and health care providers about the importance of increasing access to our healthcare system.

Ways you can share your story:
Your story will be a resource to help highlight the challenges of accessing health care in Colorado.  There are a variety of ways in which your story can be shared, including:

• Testifying to elected officials at the Colorado State Legislature
• Working with members of the media
• Sharing your story at Consumer Health Initiative events

Preparing your Story
Members of the Power of One story bank are offered assistance preparing to speak in any arena. We will help you organize your thoughts, offer advice on effective public speaking skills, and help to ensure you are prepared enough to feel comfortable and effective.  Also, you will be offered the full support of a staff that understands the challenges consumers face everyday while negotiating the challenges of the health care system. 

Safeguarding your story
To ensure your participation is always at a level you are comfortable with, we have set up the following guidelines:

1. Contact information will not be shared without your permission.
2. Use of your name is optional; your name will not be used without your permission.
3. We will ask for your permission each time your story is shared.
4. For all public speaking engagements, a staff member or advocate of your choice will be present.
5. You will always be in control about the amount of personal information that will be shared.
