Health Care Costs Rise Above 10% of Pre-Tax Income for 1.1 Million Coloradans
TELECONFERENCE FOR COLORADO MEDIA WILL FOCUS ON REPORT
DENVER, CO: Families USA, the national organization for health care consumers, is releasing a report that provides state-specific data for Colorado on the number of people in families that will spend more than 10 and 25 percent of their pre-tax income on health care costs in 2008. Health care is consuming an ever-growing share of family budgets—forcing people to make difficult sacrifices in other areas so they can make ends meet.
The report provides first-ever findings on the following:
· Number of insured families that will spend more than 10 and 25 percent of their income on health care costs in 2008;
· Number of uninsured families that spend more than 10 and 25 percent of their income on health care costs;
· Income levels of people in families that will spend more than 10 and 25;
· Increases in family health care spending between 2000 and 2008.
