Dear CCHI Community, Partners, Members, and Friends,

As we come together in the wake of the national election, we recognize a range of emotions and reactions many of us may be having- worry, frustration – and hopefully a renewed commitment to justice. While Coloradans overwhelmingly voted to protect access to abortion and reproductive health care by passing Amendment 79, the results of the federal election may not align with our collective vision for the state and nation’s future – and CCHI remains committed to health justice and racial equity for all Coloradans, and all Americans.

At CCHI, we believe in a world where health and dignity are accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. We understand that change is rarely linear, and we will keep moving forward toward our collective goals and driving progress forward. The fight for affordable, accessible, equitable, and inclusive healthcare will continue regardless of any election cycle, policy repeals, or shifting political tides. Our fight is rooted in an enduring commitment to the people and communities we serve.

We stand in solidarity with the communities we serve, and those in which we live, work, and love. We stand in solidarity with those who are strategically undervalued by systems of power and oppression and will continue to fight with and for our allies, friends, and neighbors. The political is the personal.

The challenges and unknowns ahead of us feel daunting, and progress may seem slow, but resilience and persistence are at the heart and soul of our work. With each challenge, we find new strengths and alliances that will deepen our community power. Together, we will navigate the road ahead fueled by our shared commitment to equity and justice, we will push for policies that prioritize people over profit, advocate for our communities’ needs, and amplify the voices of those often unheard.

Together, we will remain vigilant and prepared to channel our collective energy to drive meaningful, lasting change.

With gratitude, and in fierce solidarity,

The Colorado Consumer Health Initiative
